Me 'n Little D - JUNE 22 to JULY 22! 1 month home!

Well, it has been over a month since I stopped blogging cold turkey.  LOL.  Let's just say it has been busy.  Most of you know, but we ended up bringing little D home June 22, 2011!  Yep.  We were preparing to go back mid-July to bring him home after the 30 day appeal period.  But, the judge waived this and we were shocked.  We didn't blog about it as we were trying to surprise my family.  They were surprised.  Stacy the most.  Mom just did a double take when we knocked on the door. LOL.  Anyways - we were so not prepared and had to do some shopping over in Russia for the little Man.  We spent 3 days in Moscow on the tail end of the trip (Good thing we got London done on the way over...LOL).  We got his Visa then flew home.  Our flight from Montreal to Ottawa was delayed 4 times from the minute we landed, so, at 8:30 pm we said enough.  Jumped into a town car and we were home by 9:50 pm with little d and his stroller.  Luggage???? LOL - it came the next day.  We wouldn't have gotten home until after 1 am if we had waited.  Travelling with a baby for over 24 hours is tough.  He was such a trooper.
We were lucky to have business class.  He had so much room to roam around in!  The first week home was a bit of a blur.  Sunday we had a wonderful visit at April's and a baby shower with all my friends and family.  It was a special treat to have little D there.  I couldn't have imagined being there without him.  The Monday we had a special lunch with all my friends at work.  WOW - what a spread.  Little D was so good and loved all the attention.  He hung out with Auntie T in her office while I went and did some paperwork.  :)

Welcome home Little D!  Funny that about 3 days before we were leaving for this trip, I asked Chris..."Should we put the crib together"?  And I still had about 6 stripes to finish on the wall... we decided no, didn't want to jinx anything.  Next day I asked.."Should we put the crib together"?  we decided we would flip a coin.  Coin was heads so assembly began.  And good thing - LOL, his room was basically done and ready. (The Big Bear was from Sandra - :) Biggest Bear I've ever seen. We love it - Thank you so much.
Thank you to Anna for the beautiful 9"inch letters.  My nine inch nails came in handy. LOL.  We love them and just put them up a few days ago and the room is almost 100% done.  I'm sure he appreciates my very hard and over ambitious striped wall.  :) wink.
So this picture of the two of us was taken about 20 minutes after we arrived on the first day.  The Translator, Anya was laughing and says give me the camera.  He had such a huge grin on that moment.  So funny and thanks so much to Anya for capturing it and her support and friendship!
So, now that we are into a routine - four weeks but we made it!!! things are great.  Little D sleeps 12 hours each night - 90 % of the time.  He loves to sleep.  Play hard sleep hard.   - breakkie each morning and Cooper bark-u-ming... Cooper has actually been fantastic with Little D.  Cooper is only 7 months old and so smart.  Good Boy.  Morning always a 45 min - 1 hour walk with Cooper and Dima.  Coop stays right along side the stroller and doesn't pull on the leash.  Nana trained him good ;) wink.  We have been busy with visiting friends, shopping a bit, and swimming!  Dima loves the water and giggle so much.  Nana's pool, at least a few times a week... In Toronto where we went 2 weeks ago... loves it but obviously can't swim.  Being very safe and watching him and letting him get used to it. Here is a great pic of Dima and Chris after a swim out at Brad, Sarah and Nathan's.  :)
I miss keeping in touch with everyone.  It was so great to be able to share this with you all and your support has been truly great.  We are settled in and can't believe how different it is yet fantastic.  Dmitry is such a funny, happy and curious little boy.  He's just 18th months now and starting to really see  how much he has advanced in the last 4 weeks.  He wants to talk so bad and tries so hard, it is really cute.  He says a few things like moma and dada, but just today we think he understands who is who.  We camped out in our big tent at Nana's last night with Cooper too, and this morning at 6 am he is awake between us and taps me on the chest and says Moma, then the same to Chris .. dada, funny.

I miss work cause it's easier than this physical labor these days.  Cardio, weight lifting - bending to pick up stuff, carrying a 22 lb - er, stroller pushing, camping, dishes, laundry.... but - the cherry on top of all that is the "NAP".  I get to nap too each day...LOL.  Naps are not allowed at the office.
Miss everyone!

So, we are taking it easy this week. We have been on the go so much, we are going to relax and hit the beach this week.  I'll be in touch and hope everyone is having a wonderful summer.  Keep in touch and email me anytime.  xxoo

Jackie, Chris, Lil D and Coopers Coopers......woof
